The Ironman franchise is going from strength to strength in the UK. As on-line entries for the 2010 Ironman 70.3 UK event opened this week, the event is already almost full.
With just a handful of entries still available, race organisers are urging any potential competitors to enter quickly. With over 1,000 of the 1,250 race slots being snapped up in the first 24 hours, the race is expected to fill by the end of this weekend.
Set in beautiful Exmoor, in south west England, Ironman 70.3 UK has become known as one of the toughest 70.3 events on the race circuit – which is the way Chris McCormack described the race after he won in 2006!
A one-loop swim, a two-loop rural bike course and a three-loop run alongside the picturesque reservoir and across the spectacular dam is what is on offer for all those lucky enough to secure a place on the 2010 start line.
Online entries are available via the event website at www.ironmanuk.com and are being run through the Active.com entry system.
