After the London Olympic triathlon rush, Sydney opens its doors to age groupers


Organisers at the Sydney round of the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series have opened entries to age group athletes for the 2011 event.

Following the rush to gain a place at the London event for next year, the venue of London 2012 Olympics course, the Sydney event is also expected to reach capacity quickly.

Due to the popularity of the Sydney event, organisers are holding a ballot for entries.

Sydney, the site of the first Olympic Games triathlon, which this year opens for age group athletes, brings with it an opportunity to race over the Harbour Bridge on 9-10 April 2011.

The Dextro Energy Triathlon London, presented by Tata Steel returns to Hyde Park for the third consecutive year on 6-7 August 2011. Organisers in London announced that the race route will, for the first time, feature a trip out of Hyde Park to Buckingham Palace.

Places for the Olympic distance Buckingham Palace course in 2011 sold out in a few days. Although, places do still remain for the Sprint or Olympic Distance on Saturday 6 August 2011, within the park, as well as for the Sprint Distance on Sunday 7 August on the Buckingham Palace route.
