Effective from 1 July 2011, Christoph Schwarz is assuming responsibility for the European PowerBar business. Schwarz steps up as the new Regional Performance Nutrition Business Head of Europe, taking over from Tim Moody.
43 year old Christoph Schwarz has been with PowerBar since 2000 and has had an active role in building the PowerBar brand and helping to shape its strong ‘fitness positioning’.
Under his leadership, as Country Business Manager for Germany & Austria, PowerBar saw the German and Austrian markets perform very successfully. Schwarz was also actively involved and instrumental in the positive development for the Nestlé owned PowerBar brand across Europe.
“I look forward to the new responsibilities and am confident that, for the entire team, the positive trend of recent years will continue seamlessly,” said Schwarz. “We in Europe have undergone a remarkable development.
“Now we want to open the sports nutrition market to new target groups and build upon our leadership position across the entire European region as an innovation and know-how company. This will help us to further consolidate and expand.”
The succession to Schwarz’s former role of Country Business Manager Germany & Austria will take place on 1 July 2011 – in tandem with Schwarz’s move to the European Business Head role.
Dennis Schömburg will assume responsibility for the strategically important Germany and Austria. Since October 2007, Schömburg has been responsible for marketing at PowerBar Europe. Prior to that Schömburg spent nine years in various marketing functions for Kraft Foods in Germany and across Eastern Europe.
