First Endurance partners with Leopard Trek Project

Endurance sport nutrition specialist First Endurance has announced a two-year partnership with the new Leopard Trek project.

The new cycling team includes Tour de France General Classification (GC) contenders Frank and Andy Schleck, four-time World Time-Trial Champion Fabian Cancellara, and team captain Jens Voigt.

The riders will receive the entire First Endurance product line and will continue to work closely with First Endurance on new product development.

In an initial project, Leopard-Trek riders will work with First Endurance on a completely new EFS bar, which the riders will be testing at their Mallorca training camp in a few weeks.

“This partnership came about because a number of the riders and staff at the new Leopard-Trek Project had previous access to the First Endurance line,” said Mike Fogarty, VP of Sales and Marketing at First Endurance.

“The team contacted us for endurance nutrition because they want to make sure they have access to the best products available. These guys get paid to race their bikes at the top level of the sport and their team doctors know how critical it is to make sure the riders’ unique nutritional needs are being met.

“They understand the dramatic effect nutrition and supplementation can have on performance and they wanted to continue using First Endurance because they know how well it works.”

“We have a dynamic relationship with these teams,” noted Robert Kunz, VP of Science and Technology at First Endurance.

”Input and feedback from the riders and staff at the Leopard Trek Project team will help our research and development team continue to safely push the limits of endurance performance by offering the best endurance nutrition available

Kunz added, ”It’s easy for a company to say it listens to its athletes, it’s another thing to include them in the development process – First Endurance really does.”

First Endurance was started by two racing fanatics (a cyclist and a triathlete) with a healthy obsession for sports nutrition. According to the company, the idea was simple. Give endurance athletes access to formulas that are developed for one specific reason – to maximize endurance performance.
