Electrolyte enhanced drink specialist Nuun & Co has appointed Mason Reay as its new President. In this role, Reay, who joined Nuun in 2010 as Head of Marketing, will expand his responsibilities to include oversight of finance, customer support and business operations.
Prior to joining Nuun (pronounced ‘noon’), Reay spent 12 years at Dell Inc, most recently as the Vice President of Global Consumer Marketing and Merchandising. In Mason’s short tenure with Nuun he has developed his knowledge of the hydration industry and immersed himself in an active Nuun lifestyle (running, cycling, skiing, and climbing).
“I’m excited about the opportunities in front of Nuun,” said Reay.
“We have a great team, a passionate customer base and a diverse set of business partners. My goal is to build upon these strengths and further expand our reach,” he said.
“Mason has had an immediate, tangible impact on Nuun, and we are looking forward to seeing the increased impact he will have on our business in his new role as President,” added Nuun CEO Dave Mutzel. “He offers a unique blend of drive and creativity, along with executive management experience, that we are confident will help lead the business.”
Sports drink and sports nutrition specialist Nuun was the first company to introduce electrolyte enhanced drink tablets to the US market.
Nuun has been raising its awareness across a range of sports and has recently been profiled in Runner’s World, Outside Magazine, Triathlete, Golf Fitness and Backpacker magazine.
In explaining his initial interest in Nuun, Reay added, “there is a growing wave of awareness on the importance of daily hydration and the negative impact of excess sugars in the typical diet. Nuun was developed as a no-sugar alternative to traditional sports drinks. You don’t have to be a hard core athlete to benefit from increased hydration and electrolytes.”
Reay holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA in Finance and Business Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Founded in 2004, Nuun is available in over 3,000 stores in the US and available in over 20 countries worldwide.
