Scott Sports is the new official sponsor for the bike course at the iconic long distance triathlon Challenge Roth. Taking place in Roth, Germany, and as a new partner of the Challenge Roth event, Scott’s brand name will of course appear along the bike course; but the sponsorship includes more than that. For example, Sebastian Kienle, last-year’s second place finisher and one of this year’s favourites, will use a Scott bike in the competition and will present the brand new Scott Plasma 3 bike at the event.
Scott also has a pleasant surprise in store for Challenge Roth’s age-group athletes: a new Scott Plasma 3 frame set worth €4,199 will be raffled in the company’s anniversary auction on Facebook. Details on how to enter the Scott-Challenge Roth competition will shortly be announced by Team Challenge, the event organisers.
Florian Brugger, Scott’s Marketing Manager who is also responsible for the company’s triathlon section in Germany put forward a number of reasons for the sponsorship. “As a sports company with a very long history in triathlon – which we can surely be proud of – it is of course very important for us to maintain a cutting-edge position.
“Our commitment in Hawaii at the Ironman World Championship is an impressive way to do so. And it was only a question of time for us to find a triathlon event in Europe that has similar cult status. Sebastian Kienle is one of the top athletes who we signed on at the beginning of this year. With his participation in the Challenge Roth he is going to make our sponsorship a hundred per cent authentic.
“And since Challenge Roth is the world’s biggest long-distance triathlon, we are partner of an event which is definitely among the greatest in the world. And this is what Scott is looking for: important events of worldwide reputation – and athletes who can make history.”
Challenge organiser Felix Walchshöfer is also pleased to announce this new partnership. “Scott is one of the worldwide market leaders in the field of cycling and triathlon innovations and has an excellent reputation among athletes.
“Normann Stadler has done a great job as an advisor for the Scott development division, and I am sure that Sebastian Kienle will reach a fantastic result on the new Plasma 3 bike. Scott is cult; the Challenge Roth is cult, too. Ideal conditions for a successful new partnership, which we are very much looking forward to.”
