Coming off a successful series of industry events, Triathlon Business International (TBI – formerly Triathlon America) is forging ahead in its growth as ‘the global coalition of industry leaders dedicated to promoting the sport and business of triathlon.’
Most recently, TBI partnered with Interbike for the first dedicated Triathlon Pavilion at the North America’s largest bicycle trade show, featuring vendors and standing room only seminars by triathlon industry leaders. Plans are already in progress for an expanded presence at Interbike 2013.
“It is an exciting time for TBI,” explained TBI President & CEO, Jack Caress. “We are gearing up for our 2013 Conference in San Diego in February. We are also in a state of expansion, looking to continue to develop our network and alliances overseas.
We will launch the inaugural Global Triathlon Conference in London. We are continuing and expanding our partnership with Interbike and recently signed an agreement to launch insurance products with Philadelphia Insurance Companies. We will simultaneously fortify strong connections within the developing network of triathlon business executives and governing bodies.”
Caress continued “For that reason we are looking for a General Manager to oversee our day-to-day operations, including our conferences, our Interbike partnership, membership and other key programming initiatives. The General Manager will be based in Orange, California, reporting to me and working closely with our Board of Directors.
We think this is a great opportunity for the right individual with a strong business background and a passion and knowledge of the triathlon industry”

Global Triathlon Conference
The TBI Global Triathlon Conference, scheduled for September 9-12, 2013, is positioned as the first worldwide conference for the sport of triathlon. The conference precedes the ITU Triathlon World Championships Grand Final, taking place at Hyde Park. It will bring together the leaders of the sport of triathlon from business, international and national governing bodies, athletes, coaches, and sponsors in a multiple day program in London.
The San Diego Conference, scheduled for 10-12 February, marks the third annual industry conference for Triathlon Business International. The organisation notes that the conference has grown in both attendance and keynote executives each year.
“The third annual TBI conference has now evolved into a ‘must-attend’ event for any executive doing business in the sport of triathlon. Whether you are in the business of events, media, technology, equipment, apparel or nutrition, this conference now has the ability to move anyone’s business forward,” says Scott Dickey, CEO of Competitor Group.
TBI is an industry organization dedicated to promoting the sport and the business of triathlon around the world. Founded by a group of industry leaders, TBI advocates for the interests of triathlon businesses, provides educational and informative programs, and encourages increased participation in the sport.
