‘Healthcare technology driven relationship’ for British Triathlon and GE UK

British Triathlon has announced that GE will renew its association with the sport of triathlon, as one of the world’s largest companies becomes British Triathlon’s Official Healthcare Technology Supplier.

The relationship will see GE continue to provide state of the art medical equipment including access to scanning machines for research and early diagnosis of sporting injuries for members of the Great Britain Triathlon team, adding to the world-class support the team receives.

After a hugely successful partnership funded by GE’s global Olympic sponsorship programme to the end of 2012, GE UK has now stepped in to build on the engaging relationship that helped inspire the GE workforce to emulate the British heroes of the London 2012 Olympic Games, by getting fit and active.

As well as providing healthcare technology solutions, the new relationship will continue to use triathlon as an inspiration to employees to achieve their personal triathlon challenges and remain a happy and healthy workforce.

Karl Blight, General Manager, GE Healthcare UK and Ireland, commented “We are very proud to continue our relationship with British Triathlon, equipping them with GE’s latest medical imaging technologies that help enable early diagnosis and monitoring of injuries thereby supporting peak performance. We will also continue to draw on the incredible dedication of triathletes to inspire our employees.”

British Triathlon CEO Zara Hyde Peters OBE added “The evolution of the GE relationship is great news for the sport, and indicative of the success that was enjoyed in the partnership over the previous three years. We look forward to continuing to use GE Healthcare’s technology to better understand our athletes’ performance, as well as using the relationship to help motivate GE’s workforce to lead healthy, balanced lives.”
