110% signs pro triathlete Matty Reed to its 2013 Playmaker Team

110%, an innovative line of compression + ice gear, has confirmed the signing of US professional triathlete and Ironman champion Matty Reed to its 2013 Playmaker Team.

“We’re proud to welcome pro triathlete and ‘pro dad’ Matty Reed to the 110% family,” said David Green, CEO of 110%. “Matty’s ability to conquer both short and long distances in the world of triathlon has established him as one of the standout pros in the world.

“As he takes on a challenging 2013 race schedule while balancing a growing family, we look forward to giving him the tools to play harder, train longer and recover faster.”

After a 2012 season in which he won his first US Professional 70.3 Championship in Boise and earned multiple podium finishes, Reed carries strong momentum into the 2013 season and plans to use 110% to recover and take care of his body post-workouts.

As part of the Playmaker Team, Reed will support 110% by contributing to product development, educational content, marketing campaigns, cross-promotion of 110% into multisport platforms and, most important, sharing his invaluable experience with the emerging compression + ice company.

“The recovery aspect of 110% Compression is perfect for me and for triathlon,” said Reed. “Not only do I get the benefits of compression, which allow me to train hard and train hard more often, but also the benefits of ice. Recovery doesn’t get more complete than this.”

Reed’s first race as a 110% Playmaker will be March’s Escape from Alcatraz. Other major goals for the year include the US Pro Championship in St George in May and the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in September. On the Playmaker team, Reed joins Kate Bevilaqua, Guy Crawford, Lauren Goss, Matt Lieto, Sara McLarty and Bryan Rhodes.

Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, 110% is positioned as ‘Simple, mobile and effective.’ The product range uses a unique pocket architecture that ‘fuses the already important benefits of compression with the elemental power of ice.’
