2014 British Triathlon Age-Group Championships and GB Age-Group Qualifiers

British Triathlon has unveiled the 2014 British Triathlon Age-Group Championships and GB Age-Group Qualifiers, which form the organisation’s Major Events Programme, following the inspirational PruHealth World Triathlon Grand Final London that saw the Great Britain Age-Group Team win a phenomenal 30 gold, 31 silver and 22 bronze medals.

The event in London had been the focus for thousands of age-group athletes throughout Great Britain with over 3,300 athletes competing in qualification events in their quest to qualify for the Great Britain Age-Group Team at their home ITU World Championships.

The 2014 British Triathlon Age-Group Major Events Programme (listed below) will provide a renewed focus for many of Britain’s leading age-group athletes as they once again attempt to pull-on the GB tri-suit or win one of the coveted British titles.

Ian Braid, British Triathlon Director for Major and National Events said “The interest in the sport of triathlon has never been greater with the PruHealth World Triathlon Grand Final taking place in Hyde Park last week following on from Olympic glory in 2012 for the Brownlee brothers.

“I am delighted to announce the series of major events that will form the highlights of the 2014 age-group calendar and will deliver memorable event experiences for those taking part as well as the spectators who support their friends and family achieve their triathlon challenge.”

Each of the events selected to the 2014 programme comprise the leading age-group races from across the British Home Nations. ‘Each event has demonstrated the highest quality event management and provided competitors with the opportunity to achieve their personal triathlon challenges in a safe and enjoyable environment.’
