Ironman brand owner World Triathlon Corp (WTC) has announced that Shane Facteau has re-joined WTC in the role of Chief Operations Officer. In this newly created position, Facteau oversees all M-Dot race operations on a global basis, including Ironman, Ironman 70.3, Iron Girl, IronKids and all other races and race formats.
Besides operational delivery of all events on a global basis, Facteau ‘will be deeply involved in WTC’s new race development program.’ Facteau will also sit on the Executive Committee of WTC.
Previously, Facteau served as Vice President, North America Operations for Ironman. He joined WTC with the acquisition of North America Sports, where he was responsible for operations of several licensed IM events.
“Shane has done an outstanding job leading operations for our North American events and we are thrilled to have him join the global Ironman team,” said Andrew Messick, Chief Executive Officer of WTC.
“Having worked on Ironman events for 13 years, I know that Shane is a tremendous leader and will help us continue to expand and improve our events around the world.”
