DATEV Challenge Roth, the world’s largest long-distance triathlon, was this weekend honoured at the Oscars del Triathlon in Milan and judged the ‘World’s Best Triathlon’. Under the patronage of the Italian Triathlon Federation (FITri) and the Lombardy region, the gala evening highlighted the importance of triathlon in Italy.
The awards were judged by a high-level jury, consisting of FITri officials, journalists and triathletes. The ‘Oscars del Triathlon’ were awarded in 11 categories. The Oscar for the ‘best triathlon in the world’ was accepted by a delighted Kathrin Walchshöfer of DATEV Challenge Roth.
“After receiving the award for ‘Triathlon of the Year’ last November at the Sailfish Night in Frankfurt, this is now the second major award for DATEV Challenge Roth within a few months,” said Kathrin Walchshöfer at the ceremony.
“We are honoured and extremely overwhelmed to be awarded by the Triathlon Academy in such a great triathlon nation as Italy. This confirms our philosophy of constantly improving our legendary Roth event in terms of service quality and competition for all the athletes from around the world who come to race with us. On 20 July this year we will celebrate 30 years of triathlon in Roth and to have this triathlon Oscar, awarded by our Italian friends, is a wonderful gift for us.”
To helps its athletes make advance plans for 2015, Challenge Family has set the date for its iconic Challenge Roth long distance triathlon early. The DATEV Challenge Roth event will take place on 12 July 2015.
