Challenge UK hits the water with HUUB

The Challenge UK team is teaming up with HUUB wetsuits, with the Derby-based wetsuit brand set to become the official swim and wetsuit partner at the inaugural Challenge Weymouth event on 14 September 2014.

HUUB is a specialist in the field of swimming and hydrodynamics, working with the world’s leading sports scientists to produce cutting edge and innovative wetsuits and accessories. Since the brand’s inception in 2011, HUUB has succeeded in positioning itself as a key player in the triathlon market, winning the coveted 2013 and 2014 220 Triathlon Wetsuit of the Year award and becoming the wetsuit of choice for a ‘who’s who’ in triathlon.

Both Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee wear HUUB wetsuits, along with current Ironman World Champion Frederik Van Lierde, six-time Ironman World Champion Dave Scott and Ironman legend Caroline Steffen.

And that’s not all. HUUB also produces wetsuits that are designed especially for women and children; which have been developed to match the distinct buoyancy and profile of each, whilst maintaining a high performance and comfortable suit

Dean Jackson, owner of HUUB said “We are very much looking forward to working with Alan and the Challenge UK team this year. At HUUB we like to commit to our athletes, from the grassroots of the sport right through to the very top of the podium. The team at Challenge UK genuinely loves triathlon as much as we do, and have an impressive portfolio of events. It is the perfect race partnership and we look forward to watching their athletes compete this year!”

Challenge UK sails into Weymouth in 2014

Alan Rose, founder of Challenge UK is pleased with the new partnership and said “We are really lucky to be working with the talented team at HUUB, and are delighted to have them on-board with us for 2014. HUUB will be offering our Challenge UK athletes the opportunity to hire from their range of high performance wetsuits, which is a fantastic opportunity for those who are relatively new to the sport or who have not yet invested in a wetsuit.

“We can’t wait to try out our new HUUB wetsuits down in Weymouth Bay!”

Challenge Weymouth takes place on 14 September 2014, and athletes can choose to race either long distance (3.8K/180K/42.2K) or middle distance (1.9K/90K/21K). Or for those who don’t fancy doing the whole thing, it is also possible to take part as a relay team of three.

HUUB will also be supporting some other events organised by the team at Just Racing UK – including the Grendon Triathlon on 11 May and the Belvoir Castle Triathlons on 24-25 May. According to Just Racing, these are excellent ‘warm up’ events for Challenge UK too, and a perfect opportunity to try out some early season race tactics!
