Multisport Performance Institute (Team MPI), has confirmed today that USAT Level 1 coaches Amanda Leibovitz and Jim Harris have joined the company’s team of coaches, including: John Murray, Mark Sortino, Allen Stanfield, Peter Harsch and Dustin Yonke. Together they aim to ‘provide personalized multisport and run coaching for athletes and paratriathletes across the country.’
Leibovitz is based in the Chicago, Illinois, area and Harris is in the Fort Walton/Santa Rosa, Florida area. This extends Team MPI’s presence beyond the northern panhandle of Florida, Gulfport, Mississippi and San Diego regions.
Amanda Leibovitz brings a wealth of experience as a run, swim and triathlon coach, race director, competitor, and leader for community fitness. She is pursuing graduate education toward certification as a Sport Psychology Consultant. She offers specialized coaching for both triathletes and paratriathletes and leads regular sessions for local bike/handcycle and run/racing wheelchair training.
Leibovitz combines her passion and enthusiasm for inclusive sport with knowledge and experience to design training plans that enable each athlete/paratriathlete ‘make the most of their physical gifts and determination.’
Jim Harris, of Miramar Beach, Florida, has over 10 years of successful triathlon racing experience at all distances including Ironman. His coaching emphasizes ‘efficient and effective training to achieve mental, physical and spiritual balance both within the sport of triathlon and beyond it.’ As a life-long athlete, husband and father, he understands the challenges of the busy but ambitious triathlete. He helps his athletes identify goals and designs a roadmap to keep motivation high on the way to achievement.
MPI President John Murray said, “Coach Amanda and Coach Jim have the requisite knowledge and experience of successful coaches, but equally important, they are both perceptive and attuned to the individuality of each athlete – their capabilities, concerns, schedule constraints and goals. As with all of the coaches of Team MPI, they stress free and open communication for the best possible results and enjoyment.”
