HOKA ONE ONE celebrates Runner’s World Award for Rapa Nui 2 trail shoe debut


The HOKA ONE ONE Rapa Nui 2 trail shoe has been awarded ‘Best Debut’ by Runner’s World in the magazine’s Fall Trail Shoe Guide featured in the October 2014 issue.

“This is the second award our shoes have received from Runner’s World in just a few short months,” said HOKA ONE ONE President, Jim Van Dine. “These awards are a clear indication of the momentum behind our brand and further validation of the distinct technology that we use across our product line.”

The Rapa Nui 2 uses a lightweight, responsive midsole as the platform for incorporating HOKA’s meta-rocker geometry, which claims to deliver signature cushioning and a smooth ride. Similar technology is also incorporated into HOKA’s more recently added trail shoe models: the Mafate Speed and Huaka.

The HOKA ONE ONE Mafate Speed is designed for lightweight protection on the trails. The midsole combines lightweight EVA cushioning on the top with high-rebound RMAT material on the outsole for a responsive ride and maximum traction.

The HOKA ONE ONE Huaka, a road and trail-ready shoe, combines high-rebound RMAT cushioning and a seamless SpeedFrame upper for a responsive, lightweight ride.
