Team GB triathlete Jodie Stimpson has renewed her relationship with PowerBar sports nutrition as she prepares to take on the Commonwealth Games and another busy ITU World Triathlon Series (ITU WTS) season in 2014.
The relationship between Jodie Stimpson and PowerBar has been a long and successful one. The company notes that Jodie understands the importance of making sure her nutrition is right not just before and during training/racing but also immediately after, when recovery for the next session is essential and the clock is ticking…
Stimpson, ranked second in the world, said “I am so excited to be able to announce my continued relationship with the best nutrition supplier, PowerBar. I am really lucky to be able to be supported by a company that continues to grow and stay on top of elite nutrition. It makes it easier for me to be able to train to the high level that I do; that’s the least I can do when PowerBar push themselves to be the best they can be.”
She continued, “I wouldn’t be able to push myself in training or recover without the products day after day. It’s all about consistency – which they help me achieve. Thank you again PowerBar, I am so proud to be a part of your team!”
Tim McTavish, Country Business Manager for PowerBar UK & Eire, added “We couldn’t be happier to renew our relationship with Jodie Stimpson. Jodie is an exceptional athlete who fully understands the importance that the right nutrition plays in allowing her to perform at her best. We’re proud to say she has been working with us since the very early days of her career.
“It’s been a great relationship and we’re glad to see her getting the results she deserves on the world stage. We can’t wait to see what she does in 2014 and in particular at the Commonwealth Games; we’re confident there is a lot more to come.”
PowerBar notes that ‘In the world of triathlon, we don’t believe in miracles, we believe in preparation. Whoever takes on the challenge of a triathlon knows this. The body burns 1,000’s of calories and can lose litres of fluid in sweat so optimal nutrition is among the key factors that can determine sporting success before, during and after competing.’
In 1986 PowerBar developed ‘the world’s first energy bar’ and went on to become a leading global sports nutrition brand. With a continued association with elite triathletes, and a gain in sales to age groupers, PowerBar also sponsors events, such as Ironman in Europe and the Tour de France.
