Florida-based event organizer MultiRace has announced the acquisition of the Key West Triathlon (TRIKW). Following the deal, ‘the Key West Triathlon on 6 December 2014 is now an integral part of the MultiRace roster of premier triathlon events.’
The former TRIKW owners, Doug and Amy Bradshaw, and members of their team, will continue to work with MultiRace on the upcoming Key West Triathlon and on future TRIKW events. According to MultiRace’s CEO, Peter Patraka, “Doug and Amy Bradshaw are great additions to the MultiRace team and we are excited to merge their knowledge with ours by working hands-on together to bring our athletes the best race.
“This acquisition finalizes a long and successful relationship between TRIKW and MultiRace.”
Doug Bradshaw said, “The transfer of ownership made perfect sense. MultiRace is a leader in the triathlon market in the State of Florida. Their event production is top notch and has earned them the reputation for producing the highest quality triathlons. Their timing technology is also outstanding!”
The purchase means that MultiRace will now expand its triathlon calendar through December complementing its historical year-end event, the award winning Mack Cycle Miami Man Half Iron, International Triathlon & Duathlon at Larry & Penny Thompson Park adjacent to Zoo Miami held in November.
“TRIKW is a great competitive experience which also adds the destination appeal of Key West,” added MultiRace Chairman, Joseph DaGrosa, Jr. “This has made the TRIKW one of the country’s leading end of season events. Adding this event to our existing race calendar was a natural fit.”
MultiRace plans to use its resources to grow the Key West Triathlon in addition to adding a duathlon race to TRIKW in 2015.
Established in 2002, MultiRace has become ‘the largest multiple-sport event management company in the State of Florida’, managing more than 30 endurance events in 2014. Acquired by DaGrosa Partners in late 2013, MultiRace is ‘committed to continuously improving the racer’s experience and the quality of events.’
Recent growth initiatives include expanding the Miami Man Series to the Homestead-Miami Speedway as a new venue.
With a passionate team of seasoned triathlon and running event management professionals, MultiRace aims to create racing opportunities for athletes to ‘RACE HAPPY!’
