Clif Bar & Company and IRONMAN have announced their expanded partnership to name Clif Bar as the Official Sports Nutrition Sponsor of the IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 North American race series beginning in 2016.
As part of the expanded partnership, the CLIF Bar portfolio of energy bars, energy gels and energy chews will be available to athletes at all North American IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events through 2018, including the IRONMAN World Championship Event in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and Canadian events, marking the first time the partnership will expand into international territory.
“Clif Bar has been committed to creating sports nutrition products that perfectly serve the health and lifestyle goals of our athletes,” said Andrew Messick, Chief Executive Officer for IRONMAN. “We are confident that athletes will appreciate these energy options on the course and are excited to expand our partnership with Clif Bar.”
Clif Bar blends a range of organic and wholesome ingredients to craft foods that provide energy during training and racing. As part of this larger partnership, CLIF Bar bars, CLIF SHOT Energy Gels, CLIF BLOKS Energy Chews, and CLIF Organic Energy Food will be available at aid stations on-course across North American M-Dot races, ‘with a unique mix of products and flavours sampled at each event.’
“For more than 20 years, Clif Bar has proudly supported the world’s top athletes by offering high quality sports nutrition made with organic ingredients to help them cross the finish line,” said Kevin Cleary, Chief Executive Officer at Clif Bar & Company.
“In addition to sponsoring numerous professional triathletes, many of us at Clif Bar have competed in an IRONMAN race, so we are thrilled to extend our relationship with the iconic IRONMAN series.”
Clif Bar has been a long-time supporter of IRONMAN and the sport of triathlon, sponsoring a number of athletes including the top American men’s finisher two years in a row, Timothy O’Donnell (2015) and Ben Hoffman (2014), at the IRONMAN World Championship presented by GoPro in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
