Having recently unveiled it was to sponsor a pro cycling team next season, German bike brand Corratec has confirmed it is the new bike supplier for Swiss pro team Cyc Team Roth Group Skoda. The team, which was founded in 2014 under a UCI Continental licence, is gearing up for 2016 with a new UCI Pro Continental licence.
Roth-Skoda will race with Corratec’s latest bike, the CCT Evo, which was first presented to the trade and public at Eurobike. For time trials, the team will ride the Corratec C-Time.
Through its engagement with Roth-Skoda, Corratec is making its return to the world stage of pro cycling. Corratec founder and CEO Konrad Irlbacher said, “Corratec has its roots in ambitious cycling. This is where we come from and where we belong. Our new CCT Evo deserves the racing stage and a top team.”
Recently, 34-year-old Portuguese Bruno Pires signed a one year contract with Roth-Skoda. The uphill specialist was previously under contract at Tinkoff-Saxo for four years and at Leopard-Trek for one year, where he also supported Alberto Contador, Peter Sagan and Rafal Maika.
Alongside Pires, ex-BMC pro rider Martin Kohler, Martin Krizek (formerly Cannondale) and Grischa Janorschke (team Vorarlberg) have signed with the Cyc Team Roth Group Skoda.
For 2016, the team plans to compete in more than 15 World Tour race including Tour de Suisse, Tour de Romandie, Tirreno-Adriatico, Tour de Pologne, Amstel Gold Race and the Clasica Ciclista San Sebastian. In addition to the program, more than 30 renowned tours and day races can be found in the team’s race calendar, such as the Tour of Bavaria, Tour of Norway and Tour of Austria.
