Dare2tri Paratriathlon Club has joined the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Chicago as a Main-Level Sponsor, designated as the Official Charity Partner of the ITU World Triathlon Series Grand Final and World Championships in Grant Park from 15-19 September 2015.
Based in Chicago, Dare2tri assists athletes of all ages and ability levels, including youth, adults and injured service members who have a physical or visual impairment. As part of the club’s role as a Main-Level Sponsor at this year’s grand final, Dare2tri will also serve as the Presenting Sponsor for the 2015 ITU Elite Paratriathlon World Championships, scheduled to take place at 07:00 CT on Friday 18 September.
The ITU Elite Paratriathlon World Championships event is a National Federation qualifier for the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympic Games, where paratriathlon will make its debut. The winners in each of the six sport classes to be contested at the 2016 Paralympic Games will secure a spot for their National Federation to field a team in that particular sport class.
Dare2tri will also support the Physically Challenged (PC) Open Race, scheduled for 06:25 CT on Saturday 19 September, as well as the ITU Open Paratriathlon World Championships at 09:10 CT that same day. Additionally, charity spots benefitting Dare2tri will be available once initial spots in the Open Age-Group Sprint Race sell out.

In conjunction with the Grand Final and World Championships, Dare2tri will host ‘An Evening2Inspire’ on 18 September at Willis Tower. The gala event includes cocktails, dinner and photo opportunities on the legendary Skydeck Chicago Ledge. The event will celebrate all athletes who cross the finish line with the help of Dare2tri.

Another Dare2tri initiative in place for the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final weekend is Race2Raise Corporate Edition, set to take place in conjunction with the Open Age-Group Sprint Race on Saturday 19 September.
Dare2tri will help corporations field relay teams, with one member of Dare2tri competing alongside two employees of the corporation to complete the 750m swim, 20K bike, 5K run course. In addition to members of Dare2tri participating on relay teams, Dare2tri will also cover the race entry fee in exchange for funds raised in support of Dare2tri athletes and programs. Launched in 2011, Dare2tri Paratriathlon Club serves youth, adults and injured service members who have a physical disability such as amputation, spinal cord injury, stroke, spina bifida and cerebral palsy, as well as those with visual impairments or blindness. Dare2tri serves athletes of all ability levels, from beginners to elites.
The club is committed to providing adaptive equipment, training opportunities, qualified coaching and support for athletes through access to trained handlers and guides, ensuring that athletes are fully prepared to Dare2tri and inspire others to do the same.
The City of Chicago joined the ITU World Triathlon Series in 2014 and will host the 2015 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final and World Championships in September 2015. Chicago will welcome 150 of the world’s top Olympic-distance triathletes as they compete for a world championship title less than a year prior to the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games.
In addition to the elite races, the event features top-flight sprint and Olympic-distance races for age-group athletes, paratriathletes, juniors and under-23s, as well as an aquathlon to kick off the action. In all, more than 8,000 of the world’s best triathletes will compete for world titles over five days of competition. The ITU World Triathlon Grand Final and World Championships are hosted by USA Triathlon (USAT), the National Governing Body for the sport of triathlon in the United States, and Lagardère Unlimited Events North America.
Launched in 2009 (and then subsequently rebranded in 2011), the ITU World Triathlon Series is televised in more than 160 countries.
