Triathlon Business International (TBI), the industry organization dedicated to promoting the sport and business of triathlon, has today announced two additional speakers to the line-up for its 6th annual conference, which takes place on 24-26 January in Marina del Rey, California.
MultiSport Research’s founder and CEO Gary Roethenbaugh and Challenge Family CEO Zibi Szlufcik join USA Triathlon Board President Barry Siff, IRONMAN CEO Andrew Messick, US Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema and Strava’s David Lorsch as keynote speakers providing their insights into the changing times in triathlon.
Roethenbaugh will be providing a statistical picture of the United States triathlon community and industry as it relates to triathlon globally. In painting his picture, he will use new international research data his firm gathered during the past year and TBI’s Multisport Athlete Survey data released in April.
In collecting, analyzing and presenting data such as this, Roethenbaugh will aim to give US triathlon business leaders and executives insight into the needs, motivations and behaviours of their target audiences within an international context.
As CEO of the Challenge Family long distance triathlon series, Zibi Szlufcik oversees a network of 47 races around the world, including the iconic Challenge Roth in Germany. He’ll discuss Challenge Family’s growth plans, the unique nature of a global family business and his perspective on the sport now and for the future.
The TBI Conference will be full of information, opportunities and networking for everyone in the business and sport of triathlon. The strapline for the industry gathering is: ‘This is where the business of triathlon will get done.’
There will be panels for multisport retailers and manufacturers, and the highly popular Race Director’s track will continue from last year, focusing on the issues and needs of this segmented group of industry professionals. More speakers and content will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Ron Smith Awards Celebration reception and dinner on Monday night includes the announcement of the Ron Smith Award winner, the Steve Hed Award winner; and other awards in the event, retailer, manufacturer and media categories.
