With 85,197 visitors, the Running Exhibition in Paris set a new attendance record this year. The event (Le Salon du Running, previously the Running Expo) is billed as the largest of its kind dedicated to a single sport in France. It brought together all the movers and shakers from the running world in France, and beyond, to the Parc des Expositions at the Porte de Versailles in Paris, from 9-11 April.
Organized in conjunction with the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris – 43,000 marathon competitors came to collect their race numbers often in the company of family and friends. The Running Exhibition drew nearly 25,000 visitors who did not enter the most popular race on the French sporting calendar (twice as many as in 2014), and thus ‘confirmed the aroused interest stirring among running enthusiasts.’
The expo organisers point to the quality of the attractions offered at the various stands (spread out over 25,000m²). The well-being area was reported to be particularly popular. ‘The presence of health experts provided the opportunity for a large number of exchanges between fitness professionals and runners of all ages and skill levels.’
The 2016 edition of the Running Exhibition runs from 31 March to 2 April next year.
