Obstacles and mountains: Dream Team double-bill this coming weekend

Mens Health Survival of the Fittest

Endurance sport TV production firm, Dream Team, has a double-bill of programs airing on mainstream UK television, on Channel 4 this Saturday 19 December. Two endurance event shows are being lined up – the Survival of the Fittest: Wembley and the Snowman Triathlon. These will respectively air at 07:10 GMT and 07:35 GMT on Channel 4, with a further time slot one hour later on Ch4+1.

The Men’s Health Survival of the Fittest: Wembley event is also sponsored by Renault, and ‘powered by the all-new Renault Kadjar’. Billed as the world’s biggest urban adventure series, the event returns to the UK capital. Wembley Stadium in North London is the backdrop as thousands of competitors face a 10K course full of ‘obstacles and surprises that test their endurance, and sense of humour, to the limit.’

Along the way, participants take on a vareity of challenges, crawl through mud, ice and tunnels, carry sandbags, beer barrels, and even tackle a pitch-dark storm drain beneath the streets of London.

British decathlete Dean Macey presents the show and takes on the course himself, alongside 10,000 others who include some of the best obstacle course racers in the world – keen to win this prestigious event.

Always Aim High - Snowman swim start

The Snowman Triathlon, produced by Always Aim High, takes place in North Wales; and this winter triathlon is not for the faint-hearted. After a bracing swim in the lake at Plas y Brenin, and a 69K bike ride that takes in several mountain passes, the race ends with a mountain run as the competitors take on the craggy slopes of Moel Siabod.

The event starts and finishes at a location which has ‘the most beautiful view in the world’. It is the last triathlon in the Always Aim High series, which also includes the Slateman and Sandman events.
