Xtra Mile Events, the organizer of the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon, has confirmed endurance sports nutrition pioneers Science in Sport (SiS) as the Official Sports Nutrition Partner for the 40th Manchester Marathon, which takes place on Sunday 10 April 2016.
SiS backs many elite endurance events, and the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon is now the first marathon in the UK in its sponsorship portfolio.
Runners will be fuelled with SiS GO Isotonic Energy Gels at mile 5, 15 and 23; SiS GO Energy+ Electrolyte Gels at mile 10 and 19; and SiS GO Energy+ Caffeine Gels at mile 15 and 23. A SiS Recovery Station will also be available at the finish.

The event is also positioned as a perfect race for first time marathoners, charity runners and those seeking a PB or qualifying time, whilst being renowned for its huge crowd and community support and the unique entertainment around the course. The start, finish and race village are at Manchester United Football Club in Old Trafford.
An increased number of 15,000 places are available for the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon in 2016, which was voted the UK’s Best Marathon by runners at The 2015 Running Awards for the second consecutive year.
Cancer Research UK is the official charity and the Christie charity and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity are the official local charities for the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon 2016.
Entries for individual runners as well as the Half/Half and 4 Leg Team Relays are open now and places are selling fast. All finishers receive a medal, goody bag and ASICS technical t-shirt.
