Spinlister, the peer-to-peer global bike share operation, has confirmed a number of initiatives to raise awareness of its business across the triathlon and endurance sport community.
Having confirmed a deal with IRONMAN brand owner World Triathlon Corp (WTC) in 2014, Spinlister has announced that it is the Official Bike Share of IRONMAN for the 2015 race season. As part of this extended deal into 2015, Spinlister will activate at 22 US IRONMAN races, including the IRONMAN World Championship presented by GoPro in Kailua-Kona, Hawai’I, as well as the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN North American Championships in The Woodlands, Texas, and the Subaru IRONMAN Canada.
Spinlister will provide IRONMAN athletes a peer-to-peer global bike share, allowing users to list and rent bicycles from each other.
Spinlister is working towards its goal to list one million bikes globally by building a network of triathletes and cycling enthusiasts everywhere. In an effort to appeal to a broad range of triathletes, Spinlister has plans to partner with and activate at a select number of 70.3 races throughout 2015.
Additionally, Spinlister will be involved with Challenge Family, ‘the fastest growing global long distance triathlon series’ with 44 full and half distance triathlons in 21 countries.
“Anyone who races or trains during the year knows the hassle of traveling with a bike. Spinlister makes it easier for everyone to get a bike!” said IRONMAN and Spinlister athlete Luke McKenzie. “I’m proud to have been one of the first triathletes to list bikes and I’m excited to see triathletes finding value in a platform I believe in.”
Adding to an impressive athlete line-up, Spinlister has also announced that Brad Williams, three-time IRONMAN World Champion (Military Category), has joined the company as a professional athlete ambassador. Williams who is also the National Triathlon Team Director for Team Red, White, and Blue (a Veterans Non-Profit Organization) and a staffer at US Military Endurance Sports has taken his pro card and will be racing professionally for the first time in 2015.
An additional key partnership for Spinlister includes the LA Tri Club, which was founded in August 2000 with the ‘vision of a triathlon club that could exist independently and which could benefit the triathlon community in and around Los Angeles.’ Since its inception, the club has grown to roughly 1,800 members.
Spinlister also supports Race2Rebuild. Now in its third season, Race2Rebuild has unveiled its new R2R Challenge Team of athlete ambassadors and 2015 races, including the RUN, RIDE, REBUILD series.
Spinlister is encouraging triathletes worldwide to list their bikes at www.spinlister.com/list to help the community of cyclists traveling for races. All bikes are insured up to US$10,000 against theft or damage.
Launched in April 2012, Spinlister is a peer-to-peer global bike share that allows users to rent and list bicycles, skis, snowboards, surfboards and stand-up paddleboards from each other in over 50 countries worldwide. With web, iOS and android apps, built-in security features, and a database of user reviews, Spinlister is building its profile across communities of cyclists and action sports enthusiasts all over the globe.
