Those who are into XTERRA off road triathlon – or want to be – have a packed racing schedule to choose from over the next 30 days. There are big races happening on every continent except Antarctica this month.
The fun begins on Saturday on the beach in New South Wales, Australia, where two dozen of the world’s best off-roadies will gather for the XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championship. The race offers up AU$50,000 in prize money, the second-largest payout in dirt-themed triathlon trailing after the XTERRA Worlds in Maui, and is filmed for an internationally distributed TV show.
Next weekend two new world tour stops are unleashed in Tahiti and Reunion Island while the XTERRA US Pro Series gets underway in the desert surrounding Lake Las Vegas. The XTERRA Asian Tour wraps up in Langkawi, Malaysia on 2 May, South America celebrates the XTERRA Brazil Championship in Ilhabela on 10 May, and the second of 12 majors on the XTERRA European Tour takes place in the small town of Golega, Portugal on 16 May.
All the while the America Tour crosses the US nation with races from Los Angeles, California to Barnegat, New Jersey… highlighted by the USA Triathlon Off-Road National Championship / XTERRA Southeast Championship at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama.
The top amateurs from each of the majors will qualify for the 20th XTERRA World Championship race on 1 November 2015 in Maui, which, in a major anniversary year, is sure to be an international gathering of XTERRA stars like no other.
