The 24th edition of the Paris Half-Marathon (Semi de Paris) will be sponsored by wearables specialist FitBit and will be held this coming 6 March 2016. Organised by A.S.O. (Amaury Sport Organisation), the FitBit Semi de Paris will begin at 09:00 CET on the esplanade of the Château de Vincennes and will complete a 21.1K loop on the major streets of the eastern sector of the French capital.
The finish will also be located in the immediate vicinity of the Château de Vincennes.
FitBit’s title sponsorship of the Paris Half-Marathon continues the brand’s commitment to running. It follows a multi-year partnership beginning with the 2016 Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon to provide runners of all levels with ‘a positive experience and the tools they need to train smarter and reach their goals.’
A.S.O notes that, for this year’s Semi de Paris, 47,000 runners – of which 36% are female – have signed up for the ‘second most popular event on the French sporting calendar after the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris’ [also organised by A.S.O].
The average age of the participants is 37. Nearly 130 nations will be represented on 6 March. The British, Italians and Belgians boast the highest number of entrants after the French.
