The second phase of registration for the 2017 Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris began this morning at 08:00 CET on the A.S.O. Challenges platform. During the opening registration phase this April, more than 21,000 runners confirmed their participation in the 41st edition that will be held on 9 April 2017.
Among the first participants already entered in the 2017 Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris:
- 35% will run in their first marathon
- 27% are female (+2% compared to 2016)
The marathon, which is billed as the most popular event on the French sporting calendar, continues to draw an increasing number of participants who want to run 42.195km in Paris. In 2016, 57,000 runners representing more than 160 nationalities reserved a race bib. At this year’s event, the organising team at ASO pointed to more than 250,000 spectators who turned out to ‘acclaim the bravery and gutsiness of each and every competitor in the biggest field in France.’
