Air France has been confirmed as the Official Airline of the 2016 Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon. The partnership further aims to establish the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon as a ‘must-run global marathon’. A release from the two organizations adds that the partnership continues Air France’s tradition of ‘giving its passengers unique opportunities to fuel their passion for the sport.’
The Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon, which regularly attracts runners from over 55 countries worldwide, will take place on 14 February 2016.
“We’re fortunate to have found a partner who goes the extra mile in encouraging its customers to be active,” stated LA MARATHON LLC Chief Executive Tracey Russell. “Our shared goal of connecting communities through the power of sport provides us with a greater platform to transform lives on a global scale.”

Created in 2011, Air France’s Flying Blue Running club set out to take its passengers’ passion for running to the next level. Tips and tricks from trainers, in-depth information about the best running routes around the world and opportunities to connect and share experiences with others are all part of the Flying Blue Running club experience. Air France offers several daily flights from Los Angeles to Paris, with direct flights from Los Angeles International Airport to Charles de Gaulle lasting approximately 10 hours and 45 minutes. As of June 2015, Air France offers its new and improved long-haul cabins on the Los Angeles-Paris route as part of a US$500 million investment in new services.
The Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon is among the largest marathons in the United States with more than 26,000 participants, thousands of volunteers and hundreds of thousands of spectators. The ‘Stadium to the Sea’ course, starting at Dodger Stadium and finishing near the Santa Monica Pier, is one of the most scenic in the world, taking runners on a tour of Los Angeles past the city’s major landmarks.
LA MARATHON LLC will host the 2016 Olympic Team Trials for Men’s and Women’s Marathon, awarded by USA Track & Field and the United States Olympic Committee, which will take place in Los Angeles on 13 February.
