Brighton will host what is being billed as South East England’s biggest outdoor Sport and Fitness Show alongside the Brighton and Hove Triathlon, which takes place on 10-11 September 2016.

The triathlon registration and transition zone will be located within the show, just a stone’s throw from the sea on Hove Lawns on the South Coast of England. The Sport and Fitness Show will be free to enter and offers the chance for ‘triathletes, their families and sport loving individuals to sample the latest fitness products from top brands, as well as try new sports and activities.’

According to the organizers, the show will have an estimated 25,000 visitors and will be home to various zones stretching along the seafront, including nutrition, tech, retail and lifestyle areas. The main stage will host free exercise classes, demonstrations and educational talks from nutrition experts. Live cooking demonstrations will also give visitors the chance to taste and learn to cook healthy dishes they can try at home.

John Lunt, serial triathlon organiser and Event Director of the Brighton and Hove triathlon said, “I’m very pleased that the triathlon will part of a two day major Sport and Fitness Show creating an unmissable weekend in Brighton and Hove. There will be a number of exciting new innovations happening next year, so keep your eyes peeled!”

On 11 September 2016, the Brighton & Hove seafront will provide a backdrop to the official Brighton and Hove Triathlon. Co-ordinated by John Lunt, Olympic triathlon competition manager, the race will be one of the most eagerly anticipated inaugural triathlons in the UK.

Professional triathletes, and first-timers alike will commence their race with an open water sea-swim from the picture-postcard pebble beach, before a flat criterion cycle leg held entirely on closed roads which takes participants along the city’s unique coast, before a final return to Hove Lawns and a run that will head out towards West Pier and the new i360 before crossing the finish line with Brighton’s iconic cityscape as a backdrop.
