Trek Factory Racing has announced the addition of Australian pro triathlete, Tim Reed, who will join Trek’s sponsored triathlete roster looking to focus on IM 70.3 distance events.
Tim Reed came to the sport of triathlon after excelling in endurance activities throughout school, eventually turning pro in March 2010. The Byron Bay, Australia, native has captured numerous victories, including four IM 70.3 titles in 2015. Tim’s career includes 14 x IM 70.3 and long course victories, two national titles, and over 60 professional podium finishes.
2016 will see Tim race a full schedule of events, including the Pan American Pro Championships at IM 70.3 Panama to kick off 2016.
Reed, a father of two, splits his time between Byron Bay, Australia, and Boulder, Colorado, where he spends North American summers. ‘This chaser of the endless summer is looking forward to joining the Trek family and playing a major role in Trek’s triathlon program.’
“I’m so relieved that I no longer have to look at other competitors racing on Trek bikes with overwhelming jealousy,” said Reed. “From here on, it will be me gaining the almost unfair advantage of riding the best bikes and equipment available.”
