Wetsuit and apparel specialist TYR Sport has announced the re-signing of 3x IRONMAN and 2x IRONMAN 70.3 World Champion Craig ‘Crowie’ Alexander to its roster of sponsored athletes. The addition of Crowie to the TYR fold follows the recent signing of Mirinda ‘Rinny’ Carfrae and Lauren Goss.
Named one of ‘Fifteen Greatest Male Triathletes of All Time’ by Inside Triathlon magazine, Craig Alexander is one of the sport’s fiercest competitors. Becoming the first professional triathlete to win both the IRONMAN 70.3 and IRONMAN World Championships in the same year, TYR added that Crowie has spent his career constantly raising the bar.
As the oldest professional male in history to win on the Big Island, TYR continued to point out ‘it is no wonder the world has taken notice of Craig… Today, the team TYR athlete has an outstanding five World Championship titles to his name, and remains only the fourth man in history to win three or more IRONMAN World Championships.’
“I am really happy to be continuing my relationship with TYR,” said Alexander. “Their wetsuits, speed suits, goggles and swim tools are at the forefront of triathlon performance and benefit me greatly during racing and training.”
“Craig is an exceptional talent and a true member of the TYR family,” added Matt DiLorenzo, Chief Executive Officer of TYR Sport. “We couldn’t be more excited to have him continue his career with us.”
Named for TYR, the Norse god of warriors, TYR is committed to… ‘cultivating a culture of greatness, both in and out of the water…. Through vision, pursuit and American ingenuity, we have become a brand synonymous with the athlete.’
As the official uniform supplier and partner of USA Triathlon, and sponsor partner at the 2015 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Chicago, in September 2015 TYR also showcased the ‘state-of the-art Carbon fabric technology that will be used to outfit elite US triathletes and paratriathletes throughout the 2016 competitive season.’
