TYR in partnership with British Swimming

TYR and British Swimming

TYR Sport has announced its partnership with British Swimming, the national governing body for swimming, diving, synchronised swimming, water polo and open water in Great Britain. Commencing on 1 January 2017, TYR Sport will begin its role as the official product supplier of all aquatic disciplines within the British Swimming Federation, as well as the home nation governing bodies of the Amateur Swimming Association, Scottish Amateur Swimming Association and Welsh Amateur Swimming Association.

As a diverse federation, British Swimming aims to represent the best of the British swimming world. From grassroots and Learn to Swim programs to elite level competitions, British Swimming facilitates opportunities for athletes to grow and develop to the best of their abilities. TYR’s endorsement of British Swimming comes only a few short months after a truly remarkable summer of athlete performances in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

With six medals, the swimming program achieved its best results in over 100 years, while the diving program achieved its greatest results ever with three. Weeks later the Paralympic team followed up with arguably its most impressive performance in the history of the Games with a total of 47 medals.

“We are delighted to have partnered with TYR,” said British Swimming Chief Executive David Sparkes. “Like us they are a high performance business and one which is focused on delivering the best technology swimwear for our athletes.”

“We look forward to working together as we begin our journey toward the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games,” added British Swimming Chairman Maurice Watkins CBE. “As we continue our pursuit of being one of the world’s strongest nations in aquatic sports, we are confident that TYR will exist as a strong and useful partner.”

“TYR Sport is honoured to become the official sponsor of British Swimming,” said Chief Executive Officer Matt DiLorenzo. “As a brand we have the utmost respect for the work the federation does to enhance both the local and the international swim communities. Their success in the most recent Olympic & Paralympic Games is evidence that the British athletes and coaches are dedicated to making history, and we are enthusiastic about joining them in their efforts.”

British Swimming is the national governing body for swimming, diving, synchronised swimming, water polo and open water in Great Britain. British Swimming seeks to enable its athletes to achieve gold medal success at the Olympics, Paralympics, World Championships and Commonwealth Games. It is responsible internationally for the high performance representation of the sport. The members of British Swimming are the three home countries’ national governing bodies of England (ASA), Scotland (Scottish ASA) and Wales (Welsh ASA).

Named for TYR, the Norse god of warriors, TYR is committed to… ‘cultivating a culture of greatness, both in and out of the water…. Through vision, pursuit and American ingenuity, we have become a brand synonymous with the athlete.’

As the official uniform supplier and partner of USA Triathlon, and sponsor partner at the 2015 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Chicago, in September 2015 TYR also showcased the ‘state-of the-art Carbon fabric technology that will be used to outfit elite US triathletes and paratriathletes throughout the 2016 competitive season.’
