MTBparks.com — billed as ‘the most comprehensive online guide to North American bike parks’ —has launched its third annual Riders’ Choice Awards Best Bike Park Survey. To encourage rider participation in the one-of-a-kind survey, participants will be entered to win prizes ranging from swag to stay-and-ride packages at bike parks across the continent.
The survey recognizes the Best Bike Parks in North America as voted by riders as well as gathering rider data and demographics. The rider-voted Top 5 Best Bike Parks are specified for eight regions across North America.
“The Best Bike Parks Rider Survey is designed to help us determine where riders are riding in their region, and to establish which lift-accessed bike parks are really making a mark in this booming summer industry,” said MTBparks.com founder Michelle Good.
MTBparks.com was founded as a one-stop resource for North American lift-served bike parks, featuring everything from trail maps and ticket prices, to the latest news and features from the lift line and beyond.
The survey serves as an extension of that, allowing riders to not only vote for their favourite bike parks, but provide feedback to fellow riders — and resorts — about everything from favourite trails to style of riding to best amenities.
“With more than 100 resorts currently offering lift-assisted mountain biking, it was time for someone to compile a real ranking of riders’ favourite spots,” said Good. “Ski and snowboard media have been doing this for years, but no one had taken on this challenge for the summer side of things — a market which continues to grow.”
More than 3,000 riders completed the survey in each of the previous two years, a number that the site hopes to more than triple this time around. To sweeten the deal, MTBparks.com is giving away US$50K in gear, lift and lodging packages and swag.
“All we ask is five minutes of your time, and everyone who participates wins!” added Good.
Some major grand prizes are on the line, including a DVO Emerald and Jade DH suspension package, plus stay-and-ride packages at the likes of Grand Targhee Bike Park, WY; Angel Fire Bike Park, NM; Q-Burke, VT; Mountain Creek Bike Park, NJ; Mammoth Bike Park, CA; Mountain Biking Park City, UT; Sugarloaf Bike Park, NB; Killington Mountain Bike Park, VT; and Whistler Mountain Bike Park, BC.
Grand prize package winners will be randomly selected, but everyone who completes the survey will automatically win a US$5 gift certificate to use on the MTBparks.com store, and by taking advantage of the contest’s social sharing and bonus entry options, participants can increase the value of the gift certificate by earning extra entries.
Additional entries not only increase the value of gift certificates, they ‘also increase participants’ odds of winning one of the major stay-and-ride prizes up for grabs.’
The survey is available online at BestBikeParks.com and will be open through 29 February 2016. Prize winners will be announced no later than 31 March 2016 and survey results will be announced on 1 May 2016. (The results of last year’s survey are available at MTBparks.com/best.)
