Performance apparel company Wattie Ink has signed a partnership with professional triathlete and multiple IRONMAN champion Mary Beth Ellis. Ellis (also known as ‘The Honey Badger’) will race and train in Wattie Ink apparel, and work closely with the brand’s design and development team to continue developing ‘the best triathlon and cycling apparel in the world’.
Based in Boulder, Colorado, Ellis has an impressive palmarès with an ITU Long Distance World Championship title, nine IRONMAN wins, and two second place finishes at the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships.
Wattie Ink Founder and CEO, Sean ‘Wattie’ Watkins, said of the partnership, “We are stoked to have Mary Beth as part of the Wattie Ink Team. She’s an accomplished, exciting athlete to watch, and shares the passion, work ethic, and attention to detail that we pour into our brand. We’ve enjoyed watching her career and all of her accomplishments, and are honoured to have her as a member of the W Family.”
Ellis said “I am so excited to be working with Wattie Ink. In the past, I have battled with my race kits and usually the war ended with me taking a scissors to the kit and needing lots of Vaseline just to survive the race. With my new Wattie kit, not only do I finally have a race suit that fits like a glove and is incredibly comfortable, but the customized design lets me rock my own style.
“If I race half as awesome as my kit looks then my competitors are in serious trouble.”
