Finding the right athletes to represent a brand is not always straightforward; but, as noted by Rolf Prima this week, ‘sometimes things come together perfectly’. Rolf Prima, the US, hand-built wheel builder of high-performance wheel systems, has confirmed that it has signed pro triathlete Mary Beth Ellis for the 2016 triathlon season.
Rolf Prima is pleased to partner with an athlete of Mary Beth Ellis’ calibre. Well known in the triathlon world as MB, Mary Beth entered her first triathlon in 2005 after she was told by doctors to not run competitively anymore. MB has been a powerhouse in the triathlon world ever since, taking wins all over the globe.
2015 closed another strong season for MB, securing the ITU Long Distance World Championship title and grabbing a win at Challenge Denmark. An 8-time IRONMAN title holder, MB continues to challenge herself ‘no matter what personal or physical difficulties she faces.’
“As a triathlete myself, I’ve always been impressed by how the pros can gut it out through the run,” said Rolf Prima owner, Brian Roddy. “None gutsier than MB. I’ve followed her for most of her career so when we started talking about the future, I knew she was the perfect match.”
“When selecting sponsors related to my bike, I am very discerning,” said Mary Beth Ellis. “With Rolf Prima, I have found a company who places the highest value on quality and engineering to develop the fastest, best performing product on the market.”
Mary Beth Ellis will be racing Rolf Prima Ares 4 and Ares 6 wheels during the 2016 season.
Eugene, Oregon, based Rolf Prima ‘hand-builds high performance bicycle wheels for discriminating riders and elite athletes across the world.’ A pioneer of paired spoke engineering, the Rolf Prima story is punctuated by a decade-long string of technological achievements, each dedicated to enhancing performance, value and reliability.
The company notes that the continued pursuit of design perfection is evident in every wheel Rolf Prima makes, ‘each expertly crafted by our team of passionate master wheel builders…. At our shop in Eugene you’ll find avid cyclists doing what they love; riding, racing, and picking up groceries by bike… along with producing the world’s finest hand-built wheels.’
