For Sportful, BORA – hansgrohe represents a new challenge. The Italian company, which has been ‘supplying clothing to cycling champions for more than 30 years, is looking to the future, toward new victories in 2018 with the German-based pro cycling team.’
The new kit, produced by Italy’s Sportful, will be BORA – hansgrohe’s official uniform beginning on 1 January 2018. The riders will wear the technical BodyFit Pro jersey – refined in the wind tunnel and now in its second generation – in the Evo, Light and Classics weights, all in the new ‘chevron’ livery that will characterize the overall look of the German team.
Another apparel weapon in the riders’ arsenal will be the pieces from the Fiandre line, which are water-repellent, breathable garments for cold and variable weather, denoted by the characteristic red badge on the shoulder. Sportful will also provide BORA – hansgrohe with casual wear — jackets and pants by Karpos, the Italian company’s technical outdoor brand.
“We are proud to be a sponsor of BORA – hansgrohe, which means being a sponsor of a team at the very highest level, with the strongest rider in the world [in Peter Sagan],” said Giuseppe Bovo, Sportful’s Brand Manager.
In a release from Sportful, the company notes that its partnership with BORA – hansgrohe ‘comes from a joint effort to drive innovation and improvement in cycling apparel, with the intention of further raising the standard and offering the best quality available to the best athletes in the peloton – in any weather conditions, regardless of cold or rain on race day.’
Sportful’s R&D program for development and innovation will be the heart of the collaboration with BORA – hansgrohe, with the aim of continually improving both the clothing and the riders’ performance.
