At 33 years of age, French runner Christel Dewalle has ‘won all the most prestigious Vertical Kilometer races’. The very specific run discipline consists of climbing 1000m of elevation in the shortest possible distance. From 2017 onwards, as a newly sponsored athlete, Dewalle will sport the ‘infamous black and yellow colours of the SCOTT Running RC kit’.
The mother of two had another very successful VK season in 2016, winning both the Skyrunner World Series and the Skyrunning World Championships. As part of the SCOTT Running Team, Dewalle joins forces with 2015 VK European Champion François Gonon and Alexis Sevennec who defeated the current world champion in the Glen Coe VK at the end of the 2016 season, to ‘make one of the most competitive alliances worldwide’.
“We’re delighted to welcome Christel on the team, and I personally believe she still hasn’t reached her full potential just yet. It will be exciting to see what 2017 unveils,” said Martin Gaffuri, SCOTT Running Team Manager.
“I’m excited to join SCOTT and look forward to wearing high the black and yellow colours of the SCOTT Running RC kit,” added Christel Dewalle. She, like her team mates, will sport the ‘Outdoor Industry award winning shoe’, the Supertrac RC, specifically designed to run in harsh and steep terrain.
