Columbia Threadneedle Investments has announced it is the title sponsor of Dare2tri’s team of elite paratriathletes. Dare2tri’s mission is to impact positively the lives of athletes with physical disabilities and visual impairments by developing their skills in paratriathlon, while inspiring the community at large.
Dare2tri’s vision is to serve as the premier model for paratriathlon programs across the world. The Dare2tri Elite Team is comprised of athletes who are dedicated to reaching their full competitive potential on the national and international stages. Many of these athletes represented the United States at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio and earned medals in their respective events.
“Dare2tri athletes inspire us daily, having overcome immense obstacles in order to compete at the sport’s highest levels,” said Ted Truscott, CEO of Columbia Threadneedle Investments. “These athletes embody many of the traits we value in our organization – consistency, determination and fortitude – in achieving long-term goals.”
Chicago-based Dare2tri has spent the past seven years helping people of all ages with physical disabilities or visual impairments to participate in community-based activities, such as 5K road races, marathons and triathlons. Last month, Dare2tri athletes participated in the 2017 Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon to review the course and provide feedback to the race organizers on its accessibility.
“Dare2tri is honoured to have the support of Columbia Threadneedle Investments as the title sponsor of the 2017 Dare2tri Elite Team” said Keri Serota, Executive Director of Dare2tri. “Columbia Threadneedle Investments’ continued support is allowing our athletes to reach their dreams and stand on top of podiums around the world.
“Dare2tri Elite athletes loved participating in the 2017 Columbia Threadneedle Investments Boston Triathlon and are looking forward to representing Team USA at the ITU Paratriathlon World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands next month.”
