Following up from its quirky SOLAIR ‘Trans-bronzing bike jersey’ that was launched in the summer, French apparel and accessories specialist EKOI? has got a bit more serious with the launch of the CORSA LIGHT Evo helmet – as ‘tested and approved by Romain Bardet and team AG2R La Mondiale at the Tour de France 2017′.
With ‘more design, more comfort and more aerodynamics’, the updated version of EKOI?’s best-elling race helmet CORSA LIGHT Evo ‘adapts to all head shapes’ and is exclusively available on the brand’s website ekoi.com.
Studied in the wind tunnel and subsequently used at the Tour de France 2017 by Romain Bardet and team AG2R La Mondiale, the helmet’s new, rounder shape aims to not only freshen up the look but also provides a claimed 5 watts gain in aerodynamic performance.
The internal moulding has been re-designed to ‘fit almost 100% of head shapes’. EKOI? created the moulding based on 13 different shapes of the head, organized in macro groups, that reportedly cover more than 90% of any given population. The aim was to prevent pressure areas, ‘even on more unusually formed heads’.
The helmet is available in three sizes, which can be further adjusted thanks to three different kinds of inserts, that come with every helmet in black (fine), red (medium) and silver (thick). They allow for micro-adjustments to create a more customized fit. In addition, there is the vertically adjustable occipital locking system, ventilated straps and the original magnetic buckle.
Priced at £98.83 (€109.99).CORSA LIGHT Evo is available in 4 colour combinations, and will soon be customizable thanks to EKOI?’s website configurator (with options to add name, flag, colour inserts to match clubs, bikes or a jersey colour).
