Endurance athlete Susie Chan, an increasingly well-known figure in the running community and a social media influencer, has confirmed her sponsorship with Greenacre Capital, Breathe Unity PR and Intersport. The announcement comes just a few weeks after Susie finished her full-time job in the exhibitions industry and puts the athlete/influencer on a positive footing as she focuses on her big passion, running.
Susie has finished the legendary Marathon des Sables three times. She won the 155km Adventure Run of the 2017 Coastal Challenge Costa Rica, is on her way to completing the World Marathon Majors and she broke the World Record for the longest distance run on a treadmill in 12 hours. She is also a keen public speaker, event commentator, performance coach, kit reviewer, contributor to guest blogs and a popular personality in sports press and magazines, making her ‘a perfect package for any brand wishing to partner with her’.
Private investment company Greenacre Capital works across property, independent living and clean energy. With a mission to turn sustainable and social projects into positive investments, at the same time the organisation adds that it believes in investing in people who give back to society. Susie joins Greenacre’s sponsorship programme for ‘playing her own part in helping to make the world a better place, which she does through inspiring others to run and believe in themselves, no matter their ability.’
Susie’s rapidly-growing social media following – who she interacts with regularly – is seen as evidence of her influence, and her positive attitude helps ‘motivate people to go out, live their life and achieve their goals’.
Susie has been supported since December 2016 by Breathe Unity, a Manchester-based sports PR company and a specialist in race representation. Dedicated to helping people connect and to endorsing the power of sport to enhance people’s lives, Breathe Unity is seen as a ‘perfect partner for Susie on her continued journey and growth’.
International sporting goods retailer Intersport comes on board as an official partner for Susie, having already worked successfully with her on the launch of the ‘Pro Touch by Intersport’ range of clothing earlier this year. Intersport is positioned as a trusted source of expert advice to sports consumers across the UK, and ‘Susie’s authenticity makes this a great partnership for both parties’.
Other developments include Susie’s official appointment as an ultra coach for XNRG Ultra Running Coaching, where she will be using her experience, skills and techniques to help more people achieve their ultra running goals and dreams.
Susie has also recently commentated at the 2017 Intersport Run Reigate Half Marathon and 10K alongside Dame Kelly Holmes and at the 2017 Ealing Half Marathon. More events are in the pipeline as it becomes clear she is just as happy in front of the microphone as she is lining up to compete in some of the world’s most challenging races.
Susie Chan said, “I am honoured to be working with such first-class sponsors as Greenacre Capital, Breathe Unity and Intersport. It is a very exciting time for me now that I am devoting myself fully to running and everything that this entails, including writing and talking about it! I am very much looking forward to continuing on my journey with the support of these valued sponsors.”
