Interbike, the largest bicycle industry trade event in North America, will host a screening of ‘Blood Road’ in partnership with Red Bull Media House on 20 September. Blood Road follows ultra-endurance mountain bike athlete Rebecca Rusch and her Vietnamese riding partner, Huyen Nguyen, as they pedal 1,200 miles along the Ho Chi Minh Trail to reach the crash site and final resting place of Rebecca’s father, a US Air Force pilot, who was shot down over Laos some 40 years earlier.
Blood Road will screen at 18:00 PT on Wednesday 20 September at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Interbike attendees are also invited to join Rebecca Rusch and Red Bull Media House for a pre-screening reception starting at 17:30 to learn more about the making of the feature film.
“I’ve spent most of my life racing around the world and discovered that it was all leading me to the most important journey of my life,” said Rebecca Rusch. “Being able to share the story of this journey with the help of Red Bull Media House is a powerful gift to the memory of my father and lends purpose to my career as a professional athlete.
“My ride down the Ho Chi Minh Trail was one of personal healing and discovery but I also hope that others find inspiration, awareness and forgiveness from watching Blood Road.”
During this poignant voyage of self-discovery, the women push their bodies to the limit while learning more about the historic ‘Blood Road’ they’re pedalling and how the Vietnam War shaped their lives in different ways.
Interbike returns to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center beginning with OutDoor Demo in Boulder City, Nevada, on 18-19 September 2017, followed by the Interbike Expo on 20-22 September 2017.
