Expanding Neofit roller over 250% funded on Kickstarter

Neofit Products has unveiled what is being billed as a world-first foam roller that collapses to just four inches (10 cm) and expands to 12 inches (30 cm), using a patent-pending interlocking EVA foam exterior.

The design is the result of over 12 months of development by a team of experienced, award-winning engineers and product designers. The end-product is a ‘first-of-its-kind collapsible foam roller that expands to three times its size, weighs less than two pounds (800g) and is designed to handle up to 350 pounds (158kg)’.

Foam rolling is well-known for its benefits to the body. But Neofit argues that typical foam rollers are bulky and difficult to travel with. And it’s this frustration that led company founder, Seb Kipman, to design the product.

“While working in the professional sports industry, I used to spend around six months a year on the road without access to my foam roller,” Kipman said. “It didn’t make sense to me that just because we travel, we compromise our health. So, we set out to create the most portable foam roller available. And it’s not just convenience we’ve created. We’ve also designed a foam roller that performs at the highest standard.”

Having quit his job to pursue Neofit, Kipman criss-crossed four continents developing the product. With the main design and engineering team in Melbourne, Australia, designs and early stage prototypes were also created in USA, South America and Asia. The product reached it’s US$30,000 Kickstarter goal in under 24 hours and is currently over 250% funded, with seven days to go on Kickstarter at the time of writing.

The crowd-funding campaign on Kickstarter runs until 21 November. Early Kickstarter backers will have access to Neofit Roller at a discount for a limited time. Full-scale production will commence in 2018.
