IRONMAN and HOTSHOT, billed as ‘the only scientifically proven solution for preventing and treating muscle cramps’, have confirmed a partnership – with HOTSHOT being designated as the Official Muscle Cramp Product of the IRONMAN US Series.
A release from IRONMAN notes that… ‘Each year, many endurance athletes experience painful, unpredictable and competition-ending muscle cramps. Among these are many who step to the starting lines at IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events with the hope of earning their finisher medals. To aid athletes, HOTSHOT will be on-course at all of the remaining 2017 IRONMAN events in the US, as well as at the 2017 IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship events. In addition, the product will be provided in athlete bags at more than 30 IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events across the United States.’
“HOTSHOT is a big confidence-builder and game changer in endurance sports, knowing you won’t be stopped in your tracks by cramping,” said Craig Alexander, three-time IRONMAN and two-time IRONMAN 70.3 World Champion. “Muscle cramps are a serious issue for competitive athletes because they put a brake on your momentum. They can strike at the beginning of the race or when you are meters from the finish line.”
“When I use HOTSHOT, I can race cramp-free and go to another level of intensity,” said Tim Reed, reigning IRONMAN 70.3 World Champion. “There is no doubt in my mind that HOTSHOT contributed enormously to my best-ever year of racing in 2016.”
Whether training for a first race or looking to set a personal record, IRONMAN adds that debilitating and confidence-shaking cramps are poorly understood and can be crippling for even the best-trained and most nutritionally-savvy athletes. Invented by a Nobel Prize-winning neuroscientist/endurance athlete in collaboration with a Harvard Medical School neurobiology professor, HOTSHOT is a 1.7-ounce sports shot comprised of ‘a proprietary formula of GMO-free organic ingredients with a kick’.
Consumed before, during or after exercise, HOTSHOT adds that its product facilitates the synchronization of communication between the nerve and muscle, boosting an athlete’s Neuro Muscular Performance (NMP) to prevent and treat muscle cramps. In short, HOTSHOT aims to help athletes push harder, train longer and finish stronger.
“IRONMAN is always looking for ways to support our athletes and help get them to the finish line,” said Stuart Selig, EVP Global Partnerships, North America with IRONMAN. “This expanded partnership with HOTSHOT, now making their product available at an aid station on the run course, is a beneficial opportunity for athletes to improve their performance and offer the optimal race day experience.”
In addition to now being available at more than 30 IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 events across the country, HOTSHOT is also available online at www.TeamHOTSHOT.com, on Amazon.com and at select specialty retailers in California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York and Texas.
