Trek Bikes and the Trek Race Shop have announced the renewal of Australian professional triathlete Tim Reed’s contract through 2019. Over the past two years, the Wisconsin-based brand notes that ‘Tim has proven to be one of the most consistent athletes in the sport of triathlon… His race highlights include winning the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships, IM Asia-Pacific championships, and IM Australia Championships, in addition to numerous wins and podium finishes in 70.3 and full-distance Ironman events.’
The Byron Bay, Australia, resident continues with the Trek Factory Racing triathlon program as he aims to reclaim his 70.3 Worlds title, garner successful results at long course disciplines, and continue his two-year streak of podium finishes.
“I’m ecstatic to continue my partnership with Trek as I continue my career targeting success across the globe in IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 races including the world championships,” said Tim Reed. “Trek have proven to be so much more than a bike sponsor. The staff demonstrate a passion for their roles that is inspiring, along with a product that is second to none.”
Tim Reed is known as one of the most meticulous athletes in triathlon. In his tenure with Trek Factory Racing, he has ‘exhaustively tested Trek and Bontrager products at the highest level of the sport and offered invaluable insight to Trek’s product development teams.’ This is seen as a relationship that benefits every user of Trek and Bontrager, ‘as Tim’s continued feedback helps to create even better products for all cyclists.’
“The support and understanding with personalized equipment and mechanical support at races gives us a significant advantage over other triathletes,” added Tim. “Of course, the most important factor is that I simply love bikes and I want to be riding the very best that’s available. With Trek, I have that peace of mind.”
Tim Reed will continue his career aboard the Trek Speed Concept, positioned as ‘the most reliable racing platform in the sport of triathlon.’ Tim will also race in Bontrager shoes, and roll with Bontrager wheels.
