Sun Multisport Events has today announced that 6x IRONMAN World Champion, and IRONMAN and USA Triathlon (USAT) Hall of Fame inductee, Mark Allen has been added to a stellar list of speakers that will be featured at the RACE-MANIA Summit & Expo taking place at the Boston University Fit Rec Center in Boston, Massachusetts, on 26 March 2017.
Formerly known as TRI-MANIA, the RACE-MANIA expo has expanded its remit across the wider endurance sport category. The expo will also host a special showing of the 2016 IRONMAN World Championship television program, which offers viewers ‘a front-row seat to one of the most captivating and inspiring endurance events in sports’.
Mark Allen, Head Coach at Mark Allen Coaching and IRONMAN University Master Coach, is arguably the most successful triathlete of all time. Allen won the first ever ITU Olympic Distance World Championships in 1989, had a winning streak of 21 races at all distance from 1988-1990, and was voted The Greatest Endurance Athlete of All Time in a worldwide poll conducted by ESPN in 2012.
Today he coaches athletes in 50+ countries, speaks to corporations and leads seminars throughout the world. At RACE-MANIA, Allen will present the seminar ‘From Zero to Hero: How You Can Master Running for Triathlons’ and the 60-minute workshop, ‘Running Specifics: Target Training for A Great Triathlon Run’.
RACE-MANIA attendees will be treated to a unique viewing of the 2016 IRONMAN World Championship television program with an introduction by special guests. Part of the 2017 IRONMAN Roadshow, the broadcast special ‘unveils the intensity, emotion, physical demands and dramatic competition as more than 2,300 athletes representing 64 countries and territories swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles and run 26.2 miles across rugged Hawaiian terrain.’
A discussion of the program with a panel of experts will immediately follow the viewing. A programming fixture on NBC since 1991, the IRONMAN World Championship special has garnered more than 50 Emmy Award nominations and won 16 Emmys along with many other accolades.
RACE-MANIA is designed to educate, equip and inspire endurance athletes on the eve of a new season and features an all-star line-up of speakers leading seminars, clinics, workshops and workouts; a variety of competitive events; a vendor expo with 80+ exhibitors; and a chance to win giveaways worth thousands of dollars including the Grand Prize, a 5-night/4-day RaceQuest Travel Training Camp trip to Costa Rica.
