ITU seeks Europe-based Education Assistant

ITU’s Sport Department is looking to appoint an Education Assistant to fulfil the growing demands of ITU development and operations. The salary/contractor fee in this instance is negotiable (commensurate with experience). ITU notes that the Education Assistant undertakes to respect all fiscal and social legislation, particularly those in force in his/her country of residence. In particular, ITU will not pay any social charges, as the Education Assistant will be acting in an independent capacity.

Location: Europe – potentially home office position
Reports to: Senior Manager of Development
Status: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP – latest February 2018

Job Description:
The successful applicant will be responsible for working closely with the Senior Manager of Development at ITU on a range of development projects:

  • Information and updates on the ITU website
  • Team ITU’s logistics management
  • Development database management and maintenance
  • Development documents updates and filing
  • Support for preparation of reports, presentations and other relevant documentation
  • Seminars/courses/e-learning
  • Communication with participants
  • Managing projects in the ITU Education Hub
  • Facilitators’ performance assessment coordination
  • Progress report call
  • Certificates
  • Technical Officials’ Assessments review
  • Communication with Facilitators on Assignments
  • Expense reports

Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent experience in sports administration
  • Knowledge of sport and the Olympic movement is required
  • Project management ability
  • Strong work ethic and attention to quality and detail
  • Able to work independently and as a team member
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English
  • Computer (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)

Preferred skills:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills other than English, preferably Spanish or French or Chinese or Russian
  • Clear, logical thinker able to analyse requirements and propose pragmatic solutions
  • Ability to plan effectively, managing time of self and others
  • Makes decisions based on objective criteria
  • Knowledge of Moodle platform usage
