Helmets and eyewear specialist KASK has confirmed its support of one of the most decorated female triathletes in history – Leanda Cave. Driven to succeed, Leanda was the first female triathlete in the history of the sport to win both the IRONMAN Triathlon and IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in the same year.
Leanda will train in the KASK Protone helmet and race in the Bambino Pro helmet. She will also use KOO Open sunglasses to ‘protect her eyes and remain stylish in the multitude of conditions she will face this year’. Her first race of the season will be the 70.3 Campeche event in Mexico ,with key races including the 70.3 Santa Cruz and the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona.
Leanda has spent 20 years as a professional triathlete, earning admiration and respect from her peers and supporters. Originally from the UK, now living in the US, she has a broad international appeal with both fans and media and has raised more than US$100,000 for various charities.
Leanda said “I am always looking for improvements in both my performance and equipment. For this reason, I am very excited to be now working with KASK helmets. Besides giving me great numbers in the wind tunnel, the Italian-made KASK helmets give me peace of mind due to their superior quality. It’s extremely important for sunglasses to provide optimal vision and comfort while cycling. KOO is leading the way in innovation and design and I’m pleased to have them keeping my eyes on the road!”
Talking about Team LC and the Leanda Cave Foundation she added, “Giving back to the sport of triathlon means so much to me, and this would not be possible without the help of my personal sponsors. I am so thankful to KASK, who is generously supporting Team LC and the Leanda Cave Foundation so we can continue to empower women through triathlon.”
