Multi venue fitness membership provider MoveGB is joining forces with the free-to-attend Sport and Fitness Show in Brighton on 16-17 September 2017. Across the weekend, the free show accompanies the Brighton and Hove Triathlon on England’s South Coast.
Since September is one of the busiest months for fitness activity, the MoveGB Sport and Fitness Show weekend will be… packed with fun for all the family to ‘Have a Go’. On the agenda will be: fitness and yoga classes, healthy food stands, family cooking sessions, climbing, football coaching, Harry Potter style Quidditch and more. Last year 20,000 fitness lovers got active on Brighton seafront; and 2017 will introduce more variety including trampolining, swimming and a scooter test track.
To accompany the energy that the show creates, multi venue fitness provider MoveGB will also take control of the fitness stage to showcase its Brighton activity providers (e.g. partner gyms) and encourage visitors to ‘Have a Go’. In the name of getting more people moving and finding activities that they love over the weekend, MoveGB will be giving out free passes to hundreds of activities and classes across Brighton. These passes can be used for activities from swimming and gym access, fitness classes, yoga, martial arts and more all across the city.
Lisa Clayton, Director of the Sport and Fitness Show, said “The Sport and Fitness Show partnership with MoveGB is an exciting step forward and feels like a completely natural fit. We are looking at new suitable city locations for 2018 and beyond, to take our joint philosophy of making variety within fitness and health accessible to everyone.”
Founder of MoveGB Alister Rollins added “When we’re active we feel awesome and we squeeze the most out of life, and there are simply 100s of venues across the city that people don’t even know exist! It is proven that variety in your exercise routine is the key to keeping you active, so we’ll do whatever we can to help people find the mix of activities that works for them.”
He continued, “The MoveGB Sport and Fitness Show is all about finding what it is about health and fitness that moves you and seeing just how much there is to offer in your city. It’s a chance for us to help people get to know and love their bodies, their healthy foods and their city more and help make it the happiest and most active city in the UK!”
Running in tandem with the consumer show, the international Brighton and Hove Triathlon will feature 1000+ athletes in ‘the largest closed-road triathlon on the South Coast’. The triathlon features a children’s scootathlon, as well as distances suitable for teenagers, beginners and experienced athletes. There is also the option to race with friends in a relay team.
MoveGB hopes to see the show enlarge the reach for its ‘science backed concept of a variety fitness membership, proven to keep you active for longer, with a goal of a record number of visits recorded at new venues in one month.’
MoveGB is billed as the ‘Netflix’ of physical activity – offering one membership to 1000s of gyms, classes, studios and just about anything that gets your body moving. The platform gives members the daily freedom to mix up their activity and squeeze the most out of their lives. Movers have unrestricted access to everything, from top brands like Virgin Active, to yoga studios, climbing walls and even handstand classes. Created by serial entrepreneur Alister Rollins, MoveGB is now the UK’s largest activity marketplace – with 200,000 users and over 3,000 physical activity providers.
