OTTO Designworks has announced some upgrades to its original OTTOLOCK, which was successfully funded via Kickstarter in 2016, and has now been introduced as OTTOLOCK Version 2.
Positioned as being more secure than a cable lock, and much lighter than a U-lock, the original OTTOLOCK’s patent-pending, multi-layer steel band design makes it more durable than a cable lock while it’s sleek design and space-saving size quickly made it a favourite for short stops.
OTTOLOCK turned to customers and professional athletes for input with the aim of making OTTOLOCK V2 even better. Based on their feedback OTTO re-engineered the band tip to better stand up to the wear and tear of active use by utilizing a new durable, streamlined insert and attached with Loctite adhesive. Additionally, a new ceramic paint offers a tough matte finish that is chip and scratch resistant while providing an extremely durable coating.
The locking mechanism itself has also been updated, providing a smoother experience while maintaining the short term security that OTTO has become known for. OTTOLOCK V2 is seen as a direct reflection of user feedback. Produced entirely in Oregon, having immediate control over supply chains allows OTTO to take real-time feedback from users and improve the product quickly and efficiently.
